I’m Dr Theron Baker and I’ve been treating patients in my downtown Seattle office since 2007.
Born and raised in Walla Walla, I returned to Washington state for dental school at UW after completing a degree in plant genetics at Brigham Young University. I have enjoyed a continuing relationship with UW as volunteer faculty in the emergency dental clinic and as a member of the dental school admissions committee.
A few things I love about my job:
Relationships — I love the ongoing relationships I have built with long term patients, and being able to keep up with their milestones, successes, and challenges over the years has been so meaningful for me.
Science — I love science and research and seeing how new innovation in technology and materials can be used to help patients more effectively than ever before. I spend a lot of time in continuing education courses and love learning more about my field.
Art — there’s an artistic component to dentistry that I really enjoy. Getting a perfect color match or contouring the anatomy of a tooth just right is so satisfying and fun. There’s nothing better than creating beautiful, natural looking teeth and seeing a patient’s reaction when they see their new smile for the first time. And every once in a while I get to do something out of the box like a set of custom vampire fangs for Halloween or a rose tattoo on a back molar. I’m still hoping someone will request a custom grill someday.
When I’m not fixing teeth I enjoy coaching pole vault at Ballard High School, dancing with my wife, Sarah, and visiting our kids. Sarah and I are new empty nesters and are expecting our first grandchild in March 2025.

I absolutely love this place! Dr. Baker and his team are the most caring and friendly dental team I have ever come in contact with. Everyone always greets me by first name and they are always aware of my needs and do what they have to do to make sure I'm taken care of. I had a procedure done once and felt like something might have been wrong. I called the office and they had me come down immediately. Dr. Baker saw me right away and assured me that everything was fine. I was so amazed by their response and their commitment to making sure that I was comfortable and that everything was okay. I have been a patient of Dr. Baker and the hygienist Piper for a few years now. I am always pleasantly surprised with their personal attention to me and their readiness to respond to any of my concerns or requests. The office is always very vibrant and produces a very good feeling. The overall atmosphere starting with the front desk people is very welcoming. I schedule my major dental work with Dr. Baker when I'm visiting Seattle from my home in Alaska. He and his entire office staff are so accommodating and take such good care of me!
